Our Facilities
South of the River Wye and six miles west of Hereford, Madley is situated in the Wye Valley, Herefordshire. Its population was 1170 at the last census. With its large church - a place of pilgrimage in the mediaeval times - its school, pubs and post office, it is the natural centre for a cluster of smaller settlements within a five mile radius, particularly on the west side.
Madley Parish Hall is the largest village hall within a ten mile radius and offers a large well lit auditorium with stage for community activities and meetings. Substantial improvements to the hall have been made in 2010, with the installation of gas fired central heating and comprehensive double glazing and insulation of the building. Additional electric overhead heating is also available to users through coin meters.
It has a roomy well equipped kitchen, ideal for catering where large numbers are involved.
There are two rooms suitable for smaller gatherings where committee meetings are normally held including AV equipment - film shows.
There is a large toilet block incorporating a roomy, dedicated accessible toilet.
A bar with facilities for serving of drinks communicates with the main committee room.
The building is surrounded by a tarmacadam area, providing car parking at the rear which has an EV car charging point and access and manoeuvring space at the front and sides. A ramp provides disabled access at the front, with further level wheel chair access at the side.
